Hello, we are the Mayers.

We are a couple who are passionate about living a meaningful life filled with awesome relationships with real people, exploring new cultures/cities/countries in this huge yet small world, eating incredible food, and experiencing all the things that life has to offer.

Wow...it's been a while

Hey Everyone...been out of touch for a while, busy life I guess. We hope this finds everyone doing wonderfully, we definitely are! So since January... m=My friend Allyson came to visit for a week and that was awesome catching up and hanging at the beach for all of the days. We have kept busy with work, school, me working permanent night shift until August (in order to not have to do night for the full year I have of clinical for my Masters starting then), free-diving, and spending time with friends.
We went to the Steve Miller Band concert a few weekends ago, and sadly...it wasn't very good. They have a new lead singer who is just weird, but the songs that the original band did with the original singer were great. We are going to a Journey concert this weekend, and the reviews for that have been great, so hopefully...
Adam and I have signed up for a free-diving course here in July...and yes I am finally getting into it! I definitely understand his obsession with it though, it's so beautiful and SO peaceful. I am not nearly as good as him yet, only down for about 30 seconds at 12 feet. I got my first wet suit, so I am not freezing to death to, and I LOVE IT! He of course is doing the intermediate course while I am doing the beginner.
Some fun news...we are probably going to San Francisco for a few days at the end of April (if it goes through with Adam's work), and it is AWESOME. It will be nice to have a little break...
My Aunt Gretchen and Aunt Helen came in on a cruise ship a few weekends ago, and we spent the day with them, giving them the island tour...and it was SO wonderful to have a taste of home here, that and they are such FUN people! We definitely go through our spurts of home-sickness being here, even though it is paradise, it is hard being away from family for so long...and being in school is making that all the more difficult.
And just an update on Elikia...she is still doing ok, we actually went to a BBQ at her house last weekend, she is currently on her Make-a-Wish trip to Disneyland. She is living on borrowed time, but she is enjoying life for what it is. It's still so hard to see her, knowing that, but it doesn't phase her a bit. I only wish I could be half as strong.
Some picts to share:
We have our little pub here in Kailua we love...a typical Friday night with the crew: Ryan, Jonathan,
Tom, and Adam (these are some of the guys Adam works with)

A birthday cookout for Tom: Adam and Maybury playing around...always a good time!

The crew at Tom's bday BBQ

St. Patty's Day festivites in Chinatown: Adam and the Jamison girls

Jen and I with the Guinness guy...or glasss I suppose.

Me and my amazing husband!

Me and Jen (our husbands work together)

Me and Amanda (a cool nurse I work with)

And this last weekend was FUN filled with a co-workers wedding, free-diving at Hanauma Bay, dinner with Mark and Jen, then a BBQ with a friends from my work. So life is amazing in all of it's busy-ness, and we are loving it!

Happy New Year!
