Happy New Years Everyone!
I hope this finds everyone doing well.
We just had my friend from nursing school Allyson visit all this past week, and Adam's roommate from college, Matt, is coming for a week next Tuesday...so this year is off to a good start with keeping in touch with people. And rumor has it that the newlyweds will be joining us in August as well. I was great to have Al here, just to catch up, and I was able to have the entire week off to enjoy time with her. Not having to go to work was FABULOUS. Did the whole tourist island tour thing, and then spent some SERIOUS time at the beach...which was AMAZING. This past Friday and Saturday were my favorite, as we went out to the new Kailua Town Pub with Adam's whole work crew to hang out and play shuffleboard, and then the whole crew ended up on the beach with us on Saturday followed by an afternoon BBQ and a dinner of New England post roast. Adam's friend Tom is from Boston and misses the food.
Unfortunately, Elikia is not responding to treatment, and left the hospital yesterday to go home on hospice. I am having a really hard time with it, but am ok. I married the most incredible man in the world, who's amazing support and compassion makes it easier. Please continue to pray for her and her family during this time. They are only expecting her to survive another two weeks or so...
Sorry to be such a drag on this blog lately, there really is a lot of great things going on here...just have a serious need for prayers for my girl, and this is the easiest way to reach out.
