Hello, we are the Mayers.

We are a couple who are passionate about living a meaningful life filled with awesome relationships with real people, exploring new cultures/cities/countries in this huge yet small world, eating incredible food, and experiencing all the things that life has to offer.

The Life

Hello Everyone!!!
So it is actually a slow night at work and I have a chance to catch up on this thing....life has been so busy lately.
I am wicked excited right now...Adam and I leave for San Francisco on Thursday, and I CAN'T WAIT!!! He has a conference for work there next week, so we are going early and having a nice little mini-vacation to ourselves. We leave Thursday morning, and I come back Tuesday morning, and him the following Saturday. Did I mention that I am excited?!?! I, of course, have gone overboard like I always do and made all of these plans...tour of Alcatraz, train ride to and through the wine country, tour to the Redwood forests, Chinatown, the Cherry Blosson Festival, the infamous Farmer's Market, and RIDING THE CABLE CARS!!! We are staying right on Fisherman's Wharf so that is going to amazing all in itself.
Also, I have all of my clinicals set up for school...quite a task let me tell you. But it's all taken care of and I am relieved and excited....though I am about to enter a period of no life (it feels like) for the next 15 months, especially since I am working permanent night weekends to accommodate my clincials., and working full-time with an additional 16-20hr of clinicals tacked on a week. Ughhh. But here's where I'll be:
Summer 2009: Tripler Army Family Practice Clinic

Fall 2009: Pearl Harbor Navy Pediatric Clinic
Spring 2010: Tripler Army Pediatric and Adolescent Clinic
Summer 2010: Kaneohe Bay Marine Corps Pediatric Clinic
Yeah, it's all in the military system, but I am hoping to stay in the Federal system anyway...so it's a good thing. I know I sound kind of grippy about it, but I really am excited, I just don't want to give up all the fun stuff we've got going here. If I could just master not sleeping...
So Adam and I have been practicing my free-diving and I think it'se going pretty fantastic! I am having a little trouble getting past 15 feet down because of my ears, but I am hoping this will resolve itself (PLEASE DON'T WORRY ABOUT THIS MOM! :) ). I definitely see why he has been wanting me to get into it for so long, IT'S AWESOME. And there really is a whole other world to see...I am really looking forward to our class in July.
Adam is actually going to be in a spearfishing tournament on May 16th up on the North Shore, and he is really excited...it's his first of oh so many I am sure :)
Well, that's pretty much all we've got going on...I will definitely have a TON of picts to post next week, SO STAY TUNED! I hope this finds everyone having had a great Easter holiday!

GREAT NEWS!!!

Wow...it's been a while
