Hello, we are the Mayers.

We are a couple who are passionate about living a meaningful life filled with awesome relationships with real people, exploring new cultures/cities/countries in this huge yet small world, eating incredible food, and experiencing all the things that life has to offer.

A New Hampshire Christmas!

Of course we had to head to NH to celebrate the holiday to its fullest! The most surprising thing of this holiday season is that none of MD, PA, or NH had snow...our first time back for Christmas since 2006 and it was not a white one anywhere. It's okay though, we had a wonderfully fantastic time!
The main reason we delayed going to NH until the mid-week is because one of our favoritest couples EVER were celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary...my great- Aunt Rita and Uncle Pete. My mom's parents passed away before I was born, and my dad's parents were never really a part of my life, so that is where my dad's Aunt Rita and Uncle Pete stepped in and loved me with all of their beings. They have always been a HUGE part of my life (ALL of my birthdays, coming over before prom for pictures, and plethora of graduations), and it was wicked important to me to be there for such a huge milestone in theirs. And seriously...50 years is a HUGE feat!
My dad and Aunt Gretchen organized a huge surprise party for them on Dec. 28th (their actually anniversary), and lots of family and friends came together to celebrate this amazing couple.

Ahhh...LOVE!

So, something that has become a recent fantastic obsession to me (much to the chagrin of Adam and ALL of my friends around me) is TRIVIA NIGHT! There is no way that this post can contain the amount of enthusiasm that I have for this occasion. I am not sure what it is, but I LOVE IT SO MUCH! I think it is a great way to come together and have great AND productive nights out, using all that random/mostly useless knowledge clogging your brain. People have entertained/appeased me in both MD and NH (thank you!). Our most recent venture out was after the anniversary party in NH with old friends, and I am proud to say that we came in 9th out of 20 teams! I am proud because having degrees is no benefit to this game what so ever, and this has been our best showing yet...one night our team had a cumulative 6 Bachelors and 3.5 Masters degrees and we came in dead last!

And last but not least...our kitty Maia. My parents love our cat to death and spoil her like crazy, so you can imagine that she is not so fond of us when we come once a month and she gets her nails clipped, a thorough brushing, and a bath....you know, the stuff that needs to be done, but you get to be the "bad guy" for doing. Her and Adam have always had a rough-house relationship (which she loves and often instigates, where as I have the lovey-cuddley relationship) and thought I would share this photographic gem with the world.
