Aloha Family and Friends!
As many of you know, I am now a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner and work in a Pediatric Oncology Clinic. Every day I am working with these children and their families, helping them through some of the worst times of their lives. What these families endure, along with their strength and resilience, inspires me beyond words.
I absolutely *LOVE* my job! I love being able to help and make things better. This has inspired me to organize an event called St Baldricks. This is a fairly new national charity event where funds are raised specifically for Pediatric Cancer Research. While there are over a million new diagnoses of cancer in adults yearly, there are only about 12,000 in children, so you can imagine where the majority of most charities fundraising donations end up going to.
The premise of this event is to raise funds by having people sponsor you to shave your head. Yes, that is correct, I am going to shave my head in solidarity of children with cancer. Every day, I have to tell these children that losing their hair is a side effect of their chemotherapy, and that it is no big deal, because at least we are making them better, and that it will grow back. Not surprisingly, this does not go over very well with my little girls and female teens. I figured it was time to put my money (and hair) where my mouth is...and show them that you can be beautiful bald, and that if they can endure it, so can I.
I know that the economy is rough right now, and this is not the best of times to be soliciting people for money...but there really is no better time to do it, because we need to find a cure sooner than later. Even just a dollar would mean the world to this cause.
Please check out our event, and the St Baldricks cause...they really are a great foundation. If you would like to donate to me or Adam (don’t worry, we won’t keep track of who’s playing favorites :) ) please click on our link below and donate right on that page.

Also, if you could do us the HUGE honor of passing this along to your family and friends, it would be SO greatly appreciated. We would love to see this event inspire other to donate or, better yet, organize their own event!!! You could also join our event as a volunteer and raise funds in your own name if you desire!
Thank you *SO VERY MUCH* for your time and consideration! We are wishing you all the best!
Love always-
Lea & Adam
