Hello, we are the Mayers.

We are a couple who are passionate about living a meaningful life filled with awesome relationships with real people, exploring new cultures/cities/countries in this huge yet small world, eating incredible food, and experiencing all the things that life has to offer.

A Jamaica Return: Twenty Years of Marriage

A Jamaica Return: Twenty Years of Marriage

2006.

It was THE BEST year! Do you remember it? Well, at that time and up to that point, it WAS THE best year of our lives. Adam proposed on a trip to Jamaica in January, and we returned to the same resort in August with out parents to become husband and wife.

2026.

Twenty years of US. 20 years. Two decades. Somewhere around 7,300 days of choosing each other, over and over. When Adam and I said "I do," we had no idea what we were signing up for and the life that was to come for us. We just knew we wanted to figure it out together. And an EPIC adventure is has been. Life surely has never worked out as we ever thought it would, or have planned for, but somehow we always end up where we are meant to be with life always feeling better than ever.

All the love. All the laughter. Tears of happiness and frustration and sadness.

The bestest of friendships, and truest of partnerships. I am not sure how we were so lucky to have found each other, and still find each other more IN LOVE as the time passes by, but I am grateful for and spoiled by it.

It is mindbogglingly that we are old enough to have been married for this long, as it has really gone by so quickly. We wanted to recognize the significance and importance of such a milestone, so after 20 years, we returned to the same resort to renew our vows. Same wedding dress, same spot on the beach, same time on the day. It was perfect…the same too-hot and everyone-is-melting to relive the original day.

We were blessed to be joined by some incredible friends who wanted to be there, as well as those in spirit due to all the things in life (yeah, it’s hard when your anniversary falls on a Wednesday, and the week when kids are going back to school, and the neighboring weekends are popular wedding dates).

I have no idea what the next 20 years will bring, but I do know that I am excited for them…whatever comes, because we have each other. So grateful for this truly blessed and incredible life that we are living, and for the epic people on this ongoing adventure with us!
