Hello, we are the Mayers.

We are a couple who are passionate about living a meaningful life filled with awesome relationships with real people, exploring new cultures/cities/countries in this huge yet small world, eating incredible food, and experiencing all the things that life has to offer.

Baltimore

So...it's been a really long time since I have updated here :)
Well, we have departed Hawaii, traveled all over the place, and have finally settled into Baltimore. And things are going great! If you didn't already know, we spent the end of May in Johnstown PA with Adam's family, June backpacking through Europe (Rome, Tuscany/Florence,Venice, Vienna, Prague, and Berlin), and July in NH with my family and then getting moved and settled into Baltimore. It has been a whirlwind few months, that's for sure!
Adam started a new job (neither of us are working for the government anymore) on July 5th, and is absolutely loving it. It's also really nice, because I get to hear a little bit about what he does...for the first time in 6 years! We are living in an area of Baltimore called Harbor East in a complex called 'The Eden' which is sandwiched in between Inner Harbor and Fells Point, and is completely new over the past 5-6 years. It is super nice because Adam can walk to work, and we can walk EVERYWHERE that we need and want to go for the most part...grocery shopping, yoga, gym, out to eat and drink, and all of our friends live here...it's fantastic! Our poor Jeep though, probably things that we don't love him anymore, as he gets driven maybe every other week or so... We sold Adam's car back in Hawaii (along with the jetski, that was the hardest to let go of), so we are now a single car household, and I am hoping that we can maintain that indefinitely.
We are having a great time here thus far, especially since the core of our Hawaii social group has pretty much moved out here and is working for the same company that Adam is, and we are getting to see family much more frequently...even making it to family reunions! We have missed a lot over the last 4 years, and it is great to catch back up!
I am not currently working because we are not sure what our plans hold quite yet...Adam's job is giving us the opportunity to move abroad at the beginning of the new year to Abu Dhabi for two years, and we really want to take it. It is just dependent on my ability to have a job over there... So since we could possibly only be here 5-6 months, want a lot of flexibility with our schedules, and I can't work in a primary care setting for such a short stint without looking incompetent or like a total a$$, I am rocking the domestic goddess role! I am loving how much time I am getting in with yoga, the gym, and reading, don't get me wrong...but it feels so wrong and weird to not be working.
Well I do have some picts coming from our activities since we have arrived, so stay tuned!
