Today was the day! Eight months of planning...we haven't counted money yet, but we are guessing we raised at least $90,000 and had over 200 people shave their head. This includes 13 soldiers that are currently deployed in Iraq!!! I have never been so proud, amazing, happy, excited, awed, and inspired all at once in my life...the emotion was overwhelming seeing the children with cancer and their families come help us shave our heads, and the community outpouring of support for our cause...it was such a beautiful thing to watch. I was definitely brought to tears SEVERAL times throughout the day...especially when 3 of my kiddos helped shave my head, and the sibling of a beloved patient of mine who lost the battle. It was a perfect day.
