Hello, we are the Mayers.

We are a couple who are passionate about living a meaningful life filled with awesome relationships with real people, exploring new cultures/cities/countries in this huge yet small world, eating incredible food, and experiencing all the things that life has to offer.

Birthday Weekend!

What a wonderful weekend...a proper birthday weekend if I do say so myself. Friday was a nice low-key day of me running a few errands and doing stuff aroundt he house before Adam got home early from work. I made him a nice 3 course meal (yes, including his mom's beloved potatoes that I still cannot get right), and had the bright idea of surprising him with tiramisu cake filled with lit candles... Well, it was a grande plan until I took this cake into the office to surprise him, and the overhead fan blew out all the candles for him. Yeah, it's really funny...but I was mad about it. It would happen though.
Saturday we went and looked at stuff for landscaping before heading into Waikiki for THE BEST NIGHT! The scavenger hunt was AWESOME! There were 20 teams totaling about 100 people, and we are all running around Waikiki with 6 clues, a map, blacklight, cypher, and a mirror. To all the people doing out for the night, we must have been quite a sight...and all the clues led us to the busy areas, it was great! We didn't win, but we made really good time, and are going to do it again next month. The clues were tough, and some of the stuff was really hard to see because it was after the sun had gone down... If anyone has the opportunity to go on one of these things (the company goes all over the US) DEFINITELY do it! We then went out afterwards with the crew to Ryan's.
Sunday was of course being awake at 6:30 for the 7am Steelers game at the local bar (yay for 1pm start times and a time difference), but aleast there is a TON of Steelers fans here! This was obviously followed by a nice nap... We then met up for an afternoon wine-tasting with some of my co-workers and then did dinner out at Zia's. The night has been topped off by Coldstone Creamery, which is probably my favorite new place...as I LOVE ice cream, and have no appetite for anything warm...the weather has been crazy hot despite the warm breezes.
It was weird not really having family or good friends around to celebrate Adam's birthday...that part was definitely felt, and missed.
On the chicked front...since everyone loves this epic...I called the police on Friday because the roosters started going off at 3am and didn't stop AT ALL until around 6am...and I was beyond done. Anyway, they have a week to get rid of them, or they will be taken away. PEACE AT LAST! I cannot wait until I wake up without the help of roosters! That and our future guests will like us much better for it as well. Sorry Nora!

Interesting Tid-bit

Got what it takes?
